Joyful show pays homage to one of the most influential voices in British music

Whether you’ve been a fan for decades or recently joined the shoal via the Stranger Things phenomenon, there have never been a better time to release your inner Kate Bush!

As part of our spring season of theatre, we’re excited to welcome a joyful, unique and mind-blowing show, paying homage to the music, fans, and mythology of one of the most influential voices in British music.

An Evening without Kate Bush, performed by Sarah-Louise Young and made with Russell Lucas, has received critical acclaim and won awards, following its sold-out Edinburgh Fringe runs, Soho Theatre seasons and smash-hit UK tours.

Asked what attracted her to Kate Bush as the possible subject for the show, performer Sarah-Louise said:

“I’ve always loved Kate Bush’s music and as a child of the 70’s and 80’s remember that first appearance on Top Of The Pops and all those amazing videos and songs which followed.  Plus my brother fancied her a bit so her music was always floating through the house.

Kate Bush is a true icon: her music is unique, spanning nearly five decades, winning countless awards and selling millions of records, but the woman herself is something of an enigma.

In her physical absence, her fans created their own community: ’The Fish People’. They are at the heart of ‘An Evening Without Kate Bush’.

We wanted to celebrate them through her music. That was the starting point of making the show.”

So Kate Bush fans, this show is truly for you. Howl with the Hounds of Love and dance on the moors with Wuthering Heights! She’s not there – but you are.

An Evening without Kate Bush is here at The Berry Theatre on Friday 17th March, 7.30pm.
