Year 10 Work Experience
Our industry led Work Experience programme has been running since 2020 and provides an invaluable experience to support Year 10 students in exploring creative careers.
The programme allows participants to learn all about Producing, Financing and Marketing as well as artistically creating their own Arts Event. During the week, the team will meet Artists and Point staff as well complete a Bronze Arts Award, giving them an additional qualification whilst gaining bespoke careers advice.

Why apply for work experience at The Point?
• Work with a professional arts venue team for a week
• Meet staff and industry experts and gain insight about different job roles within the arts including Producing, Marketing, Finance and Fundraising as well as being an Artist

What happens during the Work Experience week?
Participants can expect to meet professionals from The Point and The Berry Theatre team and explore their jobs which may include:
• Marketing
• Technician
• Arts Programmer
• Arts Workshop Leader
• Arts Administrator
• Artist
The location of the work experience week will be at The Point, Eastleigh.
How To Apply
Applications for our Work Experience 2023 programme are now open.
What happens after I submit my application?
Friday 20th January 2023, 5pm: Deadline to complete online application
Wednesday 25th January 2023: Successful applicants will be contacted and offered to take part in a short 20 minute interview between 4 - 5.30pm within the dates Tuesday 7th February to Friday 17th February 2023
Tuesday 7th February - Friday 17th February 2023: Work Experience interviews take place between these dates
Tuesday 21st February 2023: A limited number of students interviewed will be offered a Work Experience placement.
Please note that to ensure the best possible experience, only a limited number of placements are available.
Monday 10th – Friday 14th July 2023: Work experience week at The Point, Eastleigh
Please note that we receive a high volume of applications and unfortunately do not have capacity to offer everyone an interview. Work experience places are limited.

Please note: In order to empower young people to take the first step in their careers and to give them valuable experience of communicating with potential employers, we require that those applying do so themselves.
We understand that some applicants may need additional support to complete the form and we ask that you make the reasons for this clear within your application. We request that a parent/guardian completes the last section of the form and is copied into all email correspondence.

Arts Award
Whilst on a general placement with us you will achieve an Arts Award Bronze Qualification.
The activities you take part in will contribute to a written portfolio that we will submit on your behalf. The Bronze Arts Award is a recognised qualification that can be put on your CV for later work or applications.
I really like the idea of working towards a project as well as learning about the theatre and its employees... I have loved working here and would recommend it to anyone, who loves theatre or the arts.
